For Co-vid 19 confirmed patients, students in self-quarantine and new, transfer or attending students who aren't permitted domestic entry as they are living abroad, we initiate a temporary 'special leave of absence' to protect and administrate these students. 



- Below - 


A. Students who couldn't start or continue their study due to Co-Vid19 related reasons. 

  - Temporarily initiated for 2021 Fall semester


B. Targets : New, transfer, or attending students who meet at least one of the following standards 

 1) Co-vid19 confirmed patients or students in self-quarantine

 2) [At the moment of registration of special Leave of Absence] Currently living abroad and are having difficulty in domestic entry

  - Students living or residing in countries that block domestic entry of Korean entrants 

   To confirm the countries that follow these regulations, please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Safe Foreign Travel Homepage(http://www.0404.go.kr/). 

  - Those having difficulties preparing documents such as Visa needed for domestic entrance (Inbound)

 3)  [At the moment of registration of special Leave of Absence] Currently studying abroad or those designated to study abroad (Outbound) 

  - Students need to be selected from the school official International Exchange programs, such as the exchange student policy, overseas field training, overseas internship etc. 


C. Special leave of absence registration and confirmation procedures 

 1) Students need to submit a Leave of Absence Document [School Form, Korean & English] to their affiliated major. 

  - Only able to register for 2021 Fall semester absence (This procedure is different from the 2021 Spring semester Absence)

  - When filling out the reason for absence, one must write his or her health status, the country or region one is residing in, and the detailed reasons why they couldn't continue their studies. 

  - There is no obligation for other documents. 

  - However, if the student is a confirmed or suspected patient, he or she should submit their documentary evidence. 

  - If there are communication problems with attending, new, or transfer foreign students, the Office for Exchange Student Administration (ex. Global Service Center) will help 


D. Tuition Payback for attending, new or transfer students 

 1) Attending domestic, foreign students 

  - If students confirm their special leave of absence until September 16th, 16 o'clock, the Finance office will pay back their whole tuition. 

  - Payback will occur from September 17th, following the tuition payback standards

  - Confirm whether your account number is registered on AMS

 2) New, Transfer domestic, foreign students

  - If students confirm their special leave of absence until September 16th, 16 o'clock, the Finance office will pay back their whole tuition EXCEPT for their fee of enrollment. 

  - Payback will occur from September 17th, following the tuition payback standards

  - For domestic students, confirm whether your account number is registered on AMS

  - Foreign students who don't have a domestic account, please fill out the Foreign currency remittance application form (needs confirmation from the Dean) and send the original document to the Financial office.

(The whole payback process can be finished until September 16th, 16 o'clock.)


E. In order to prevent the misuse of such procedures for personal reasons or other university application, KUSIS will take extreme caution and take strict measures when confirming such Leave of Absence.
