We would like to implement a temporary "special leave of absence" as follows as a way to protect and manage COVID-19 confirmed patients, self-quarantined people, and new and transferred overseas students who have difficulty in preparing conditions for entry into Korea.

- Below -


A. It is limited to cases where it is impossible to start or continue studying due to reasons related to COVID-19.
- Temporary implementation on the first semester of 2022

B. Subject: In the case of undergraduate freshmen, transferred students, and enrolled students, and falling under one or more of the following (1), 2), 3)
1) COVID-19 confirmed patients and self-quarantined students
2) As of the date of application for special leave of absence, students who have difficulty in entering Korea while staying or visiting overseas.
- Restrictions on entry for inbound travelers from Korea* They are staying or visiting countries where they are implemented.

- If preparing conditions for entry into Korea are difficult, such as delayed visa issuance (Inbound)
3) [As of the date of application] Students who are studying abroad or who are scheduled to study abroad (Outbound)
- Exchange student system, visiting student system, overseas field training, overseas internship, etc.
Students must be selected for the official international exchange program of this school.

C. The application and approval procedure for special leave of absence.

1) Students wishing to take a special leave of absence - Submit a leave of absence (undergraduate) to the administrative office of their university (department) (form of this school, state-run literature)
- Only applications for leave of absence in the first semester of 2022 (separate from whether to apply for a special leave of absence in the second semester of 2021)
- The health status of the student in the reason for leave of absence column of the school book, the name of the overseas country and region that he/she recently visited and stayed should be described in detail for not starting or continuing their studies.
- No obligation to submit evidential documents other than the leave of absence.
- However, in the case of suspected (isolated) infection and confirmed patients, evidential documents must be submitted.
- In the case of communication problems for foreign freshmen, transferred students, and enrolled students, one will need cooperation from the Foreign Student Management Department (Global Service Center, etc.)

2) The head of the department (or guidance professor) of the department belonging to the student will supervise thoroughly the "Department of Leave of absence" submitted by the student.
After a close examination of the reasons for the leave of absence, they will fill out a "confirmation letter".
- Conduct a wired/written consultation (interview)
- Interview findings must be prepared in the confirmation form.

- Confirmation letter of the person in charge of the exchange student selection department will be attached in case of special leave of absence among the students selected for exchange student.
3) An official letter will be sent to the academic team with the confirmation of the head of the college (independent head of the department) and the head of the department (or supervisor).

4) Assignment of leave of absence will be shown in the academic administration system.


D. Refund for foreign and domestic student tuition fees
1) All current attendees (Including foreign students)
- In the case of special leave of absence until 16:00 on March 17, the Ministry of Finance will refund the tuition.
- Refund based on the tuition refund standard from March 18th.
- Check whether you registered your account number on AMS.


2) New and transferred students
- In the case of special leave of absence until 16:00 on March 17, the Ministry of Finance refunds the entire tuition excluding admission fees.
- Refund based on the tuition refund standard from March 18th.
- Domestic students should check whether they registered their account number on AMS.
- Among foreigners, new or transferred students who do not have a domestic account must fill out an application for foreign currency remittance (needs confirming from the head of the department) and should send the original to the finance department.
(After the student prepares the application for refund of the attached tuition fee, the application for foreign currency remittance shall be prepared by the university administration office. Full refund of foreign currency remittance is available until 16:00 on March 17th)

E. Department (department) and colleges must fairly determine whether the reason is suitable for temporary permission.
- In KUSIS, cases of abuse of this system for entering other universities would be strictly managed.
